Does anyone know who is responsible for the lanes behind the properties on Godstone Road/Winchester Road? The lane next to No 1 Godstone Road is covered in litter from the bins from those of Winchester Road. This is not just Christmas litter but has been accumulating for months! Unfortunately it is becoming a bit of a haven for vermin!
The alleys between and behind the streets in this area belong to the overall landlord and freeholder of the entire area. The headleases for each property will probably set out the landlord's obligations for looking after its own property (between the houses/maisonettes), but the obligations will probably be very limited. Nevertheless, they will be partly if not wholly liable for any legal nuisance caused by disrepair in those areas. Your position may be different if you have elected to buy the freehold of your own property.
More importantly, though, the freeholder might just want to be kept abreast of these things by local residents. They are a large national company and will not be aware of such details unless we residents notify them. You can do this either directly or (more likely) through the management company to whom leaseholders pay rent and buildings insurance.
If householders are to blame, then the freeholder, as owner of the land, and being able to enforce covenants in those householders' leases, should probably be the one to take enforcement action against them.
Please email me at email@example.com if you know a good one (or even a reasonable one!)

Is anyone else finding this at the moment or am I out on a limb here?
I moved to St Marg's about 6 months ago and so began my daily commute into town from then on. Every day I'm forced to try and board the H37 bus from Richmond Road, Isleworth to St Marg's Station which I find virtually impossible and highly frustrating. The timetable states that the bus should arrive every 6-10 minutes... hardly! I think every 15 minutes would be more accurate and more often than not every time the bus actually arrives it's already beyond full and just drives right on past the stop leaving myself and my fellow commuters extremely agitated and pushed to the point of meltdown! Last week on 3 occasions I watched 4 to 5 buses drive past whilst waiting in the freezing cold for 45 minutes, this not only made me very late for work despite leaving myself a huge amount of time to make it into the office; but made me late for an important job interview. This has been happening very frequiently and I'm fed up with it and I'm very sure I'm not the only person who is extremely sick of this; is anyone else out there on their last ebbs off annoyance? Also does anyone happen to know the company that operates this route so that I can put in a complaint with the company?
Has anyone had any trouble with rubbish collection since they implemented the new collection routine?
We didn't have any for the first week. The second week they didn't take plastics... now it seems fine except for the fact that they want to smash the green waste bin into bits and leave it upside down and open every time... not that I would want the job.

There seems to be some work taking place in one of the vacant shops opposite the Crown pub.
Does anyone know if a new shop is going in there and if so what it may be?
