Turner on the Thames is the subject of the final meeting of the Hounslow and District History Society's season of talks on 25 April 2017 at the United Reformed Church Hall, Chapel Road, Hounslow TW3 1UL commencing at 8.30pm, after the Annual General Meeting. The speaker is Andrea Cameron, Vice-President and well-known local historian.
Andrea will describe Turner's childhood from the age of eight when he lived with his uncle in Brentford and attended school there. From 1804-1806, he lived in the Ferry House, Isleworth, painting scenes of the River Thames at Isleworth and Kew.
The talk will be illustrated throughout by painting done in this period.
This promises to be a most revealing lecture about a famous artist who has links with our area and its surrounds. Non-Members of the society are welcome to attend this part of the meeting from 8.30pm at £2.00.
