Hampton Court Palace was built by Thomas Wolsey in 1525 and famously stolen by King Henry VIII.
The current building was largely the design of Christopher Wren and the gardens are fantastic and huge (mostly laid out by William III and partially designed by 'Capability' Brown).
Now it is a lovely museum with many special events throughout the year, including these annual favourites:
- Hampton Court Music Festival in June
- Hampton Court Flower Show in July
- ice skating around Christmas
