Join us in May Half Term for a week of exciting workshops!

Looking at Myths & Magic we will be inviting beasts over for dinner, making magical wings, creating great disguises and much more!

We have full and half day workshops for ages 0-17 years with professional artists specialising in a variety of techniques and materials, including painting, 3D construction and traditional photographic techniques.

Family Fun: Mythological Beats!

Explore ancient cultures with artist Charlotte Cranidge and transform yourself into a mythological beast! Print, collage and construct with friends and family to complete your transformation, and create a den to shelter in!

Wednesday 30th May

Find Your Wings!

Find your wings and fly with artist Jess Meehan! Travel back to Ancient Greece to learn about the legendary story of Icarus and his wings, and create your own magical pair using a mix of marbling, collage and painting techniques. Remember, don’t fly too close to the sun!

Mythical Creatures & Magical Processes!

Take inspiration from Queen Caroline’s dinner party in the Octagon Room and design your own table plan for a mythical creature’s dinner party. Work with artist Ursula Kelly and use the magical process of cyanotype to create a blueprint!

Dream Catching!

Enter the dream world with artist Bella Millon and combat those nasty nightmares! Using a mixture of materials and techniques create your very own dream catcher to catch and trap your bad dreams for good!

Imaging Myths & Becoming Legends!

  • 10am to 12 noon OR 2 to 4pm Explore the myths and legends of ancient cultures across the world. Work with artist Olivia Porritt to combine the art of storytelling with costume design and sculpture. Learn how to create your own original myth, using 3D sculpture and collage to construct masks and become a living legend!

Secret Spell Books!

Every good magician needs a magic spell book! Work with artist Marc Woolf to creature your own book that will secretly store your treasured things. Explore the techniques of construction, marbling, printing and gilding.

SeeSaw

Weekly drop-in sessions for under-fives and their carers. These multi-sensory sessions are designed to encourage creativity and curiosity, and develop skills in communication, co-ordination and social interaction. Sessions include music, play materials, soft play, creative activities, stories and rhyme time in a relaxed environment.

Sunday Afternoon Art

Join us for a series of drop-in, relaxed and creative art sessions for all the family on Sunday afternoons. Sessions take place on the first Sunday of each month in the Coach House.
