Week 1: Sporting City
Tuesday 31 July - Opening Ceremony
Work with artist Imogen Luddy to create your own papier mache ‘flaming’ Olympic torch and ancient Greek headdress to celebrate the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.
Wednesday 1 August - Creating Costumes
Use screen printing and a creative pair of scissors to transform a t-shirt into an outfit fit from a country of your choice, fit for winning a race with artist Megan Dowsett.
Thursday 2 August - Stadium Sports
Join artist Dominque Holt to make and paint your own modroc sports stadium in a day.
Friday 3 August - Triumphant Trophies
Make your own trophy using recycled materials, and spray it gold with artist Dawn Smithers.
Week 2: Isms of Art
Tuesday 14 August - Impressionism
Create some spectacular outdoor scenes inspired by Claude Monet that combine collage with vibrantly coloured paint with artist Ella Robinson.
Wednesday 15 August- Expressionism
Experiment with mixing colours before creating a horse collage inspired by Franz Marc with artist Dawn Smithers.
Thursday 16 August - Cubism
Use paint and found materials to build a 3D collage in the style of Braque and Picasso with artist Megan Dowsett.
Friday 17 August - Pop Art
Work with Ursula Kelly using bubble wrap and coloured card to create your own fun Pop Art print inspired by Roy Lichtenstein.

Create a model sports stadium using card, wire and a selection of found materials with artist Megan Dowsett.
Friday 3 August - Triumphant Trophies
What is a trophy, and what makes them special? Explore what’s awarded to athletes in both modern and ancient times. Work with artist Anna Saunders to make your own model trophy!
Week 2: Isms of Art
Tuesday 14 August - Impressionism
Using the Impressionists as inspiration, create chalk drawings then turn these into watery lino-cuts on t-shirts with artist Emma Middleton.
Wednesday 15 August- Expressionism
Work on canvas boards to explore the colour symbols and folklore used to inspire the paintings of Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc with artist Megan Dowsett.
Thursday 16 August - Cubism
Inspired by Cubism, create cubist sculptures out of cardboard and clay with artist Emma Middleton.
Friday 17 August - Pop Art
Design and make your own pop art canvas bag with artist Dawn Smithers.
Short Workshops

Tuesday 7 August - ‘Courage’
Using the 2012 Dreams exhibition as inspiration, build a mask or shield to represent your fearless courage with artist Dawn Smithers.
Wednesday 8 August - ‘Tiny Fantasies’
Inspired by the exhibition ‘Polemically Small’, create tiny drawings and paintings of fantastical creatures and fold them into a miniature book with artist Megan Dowsett.
Thursday 9 August - ‘Lucky Charms’
Make a selection of lucky charms, each from different materials with artist Megan Dowsett. Thread them onto a charm chain and wait for the good luck to come!
Friday 10 August - ‘Screen-printed bags’
Inspired by Matisse, Screen-print your favourite shapes onto a canvas bag with Dawn Smithers.
Drawing and Painting Summer School
10am - 3pm each day. £45 for two days. Please bring a packed lunch.
Take two days to delve deeply into the essential elements of drawing and painting. Explore approaches to composing a picture, develop techniques for reflecting proportion and perspective in your drawings and build your colour mixing and paintbrush skills. Spend a session with a clothed life model to understand the challenges of drawing the body. Work with professional artists Diana Taylor, Carol Justin, and Caroline Jones.
