Councillors start monthly 'Drop in Surgeries'
The three ward councillors have combined with the ward’s Safer Neighbourhood police team to hold regular “Drop in Surgeries” at Eurowash Launderette, 99 Whitton Rd, on the last Thursday of each month, between 2 pm and 3 pm. Residents are invited to drop in to discuss crime fighting, security and any Council issues.

Event Reminder: Open Studios at Redlees June 26th-28th 2009
Artists at Redlees will be showing new work during the weekend June 26th-28th 2009. The Open Studio event showcases Fine Art painting and sculpture and design-crafts work in ceramics, textiles, jewellery, fashion-accessories, glass and gift items. The Open Studios therefore represent an opportunity to be inspired, meet the artists, buy or commission work… or just to enjoy a look around!

Event Reminder: ARThouse Open Studios Festival 26 June - 5 July 2009
ARThouse Open Studios Festival features the work of local artists and craftspeople, as well as some of the younger budding artists from the borough’s schools. The principal aim of ARThouse is to promote the wealth of creative talent within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and to provide visitors with a unique experience of viewing an artist’s work in the very space that the work was created. ARThouse 2009 will take place over two weekends from Friday 26 June - Sunday 5 July 2009.

Proposed Development to the Rear of 37-55 Orchard Road
I would like to bring to your attention the proposed development that, if approved, would be build between the A316 and the homes on the south side of Orchard Road. It would consist of two (2) three-bedroom houses and two (2) one-bedroom flats. These houses and flats would result in more traffic, more demand for parking spaces, (to say nothing of the havoc caused during construction) and is just another attempt by a developer to over-develop our neighbourhood for their financial gain.

Smith J.P, the Mayor of Twickenham climbed up onto a small stage at Marble Hill Park and declared the first district Scout and Cub Jamboree officially open. As he welcomed the young visitors he gave the event his heartfelt endorsement…
