Hanging Baskets Coming Soon

From April, 20 hanging baskets will be displayed on the St Margarets high streets.

Sunday Farmer's Market Coming this Summer

The St Margarets Traders Association and the St Margarets Tavern have submitted an application to the council to hold a small Sunday market in the pub car park on an ongoing basis. If council permission is received potential stalls could include organic meats, fishmonger and produce from local farmers.

Can You Help?

The St Margarets Traders Association is a group of 40+ local traders dedicated to helping improve the community. In the past year along they have raised over £16,000 for the community. After the St. Margarets Christmas fair they donated £7,000 to Orleans Infant School and St. Stephens Junior School. In addition, they organised a Tsunami Appeal which raised almost £6,000 and raised a Civic Pride Grant of £3,000.

CCTV Comes to St Margarets

Transport for London has now installed a CCTV camera near the train station. However, the police can also use the cameras, so hopefully it will help with any vandalism (see our article, Bounty on Graffiti Vandals in the area.

Recycling Really Can Help the Community

The St Margarets’ Traders Association has applied to the Richmond Council for the right to adopt the Barron’s Road recycling site.

Bounty on Graffiti Vandals

Graffiti (and vandalism) has been a growing problem in St Margarets and the surrounding area for the last few years – just look at the state of the train station!. To that end, the Richmond Council has announced a reward for information that leads to the conviction of a graffiti vandal of up to £1,000.

Orleans House Gallery Wins Lottery Grant

The Orleans House Gallery has received nearly £1 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund to create a new education facility in the currently unused coach house and stables. Construction work has already begun and should be completed by December this year.
